Love is Unshakeable

Blog by Sam Bell

‘Cast your cares on the Lord
    and he will sustain you;
he will never let
    the righteous be shaken.’
– Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how we deal with our own personal issues, our “secret” sin. It’s something that affects everybody to different extents. When we face a trial or we’re going through a hard time, we can go to God in total confidence, knowing that He is our cornerstone and He will comfort us, we can go to our close friends, our pastors, anybody who can comfort us a bit and help us get through whatever it is that we are struggling with.
But what about when it gets more personal, what about when what it is we are facing becomes something that we don’t want to share with people any more, it becomes something that we want to keep hidden from the world, a phrase I’ve heard a lot – we simply just want to ‘brush it under the mat.’
This might sound a bit odd, but work with me here… think of that mat as your life. There will almost certainly be a time in your life where you face a problem or issue that you want to hide away underneath the mat, where nobody else can see it.
Sometimes the problem you’re facing can feel so embarrassing that you just couldn’t tell anybody anymore because you’re afraid of what they might think of you, you don’t want to think about it anymore because it embarrasses you and makes you feel bad inside when you think about it, you just brush it under the mat. In your head you try to deny that the problem is even there, all the while the problem is actually getting bigger, and the pile under your mat is getting bigger. Whenever the pile under a mat gets bigger, it becomes more obvious too.
As much as we can try to deny that there’s something wrong and that we’re totally fine. It’s become obvious to other people that something is up. I know from my own life especially that when I’m going through a difficult struggle in my private life that people who I’m close to know that there’s something wrong, because it affects the way I get on around them.
Regardless of how “out of hand” anything in our lives get, regardless of how embarrassing they seem and regardless of how much we want to supress it. God wants to help, He wants to intervene and He will get you through whatever you’re struggling with!  We just need to give our worries and our problems to God and He will intervene to help us fix whatever is wrong in our lives. Love is unshakeable!
‘Cast your cares on the Lord
    and he will sustain you;
he will never let
    the righteous be shaken.’
– Psalm 55:22
Psalm 55:22 tells u to cast all of our worries on the Lord, so whenever we face a problem in our private lives, don’t supress it – cast that burden on to God, there is huge power in prayer, power much greater than any situation you’ll ever face! And through God’s unshakeable love, there isn’t one thing the devil can throw at us that we cannot overcome!
He loves you, so so much. Don’t supress your struggles, give them all to Him – the one who gave it all for us.
 ‘But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ – 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT)
